The Opportunity
Monash University’s School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is seeking to appoint a Sessional Academic, for their Healthcare and Financial Management Unit.
We are seeking an experienced accountant, with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), and who is a qualified CPA (Australia). This position will work with the Unit Coordinator supporting them in lectures, tutorials and marking on the above unit (2024 online) and in its sister unit, which has a face-to-face teaching period in Semester 1 2025.
Healthcare and Financial Management runs for 6 weeks in late 2024 and is a full semester course in semester 1 of 2025. These units are core units of the Monash Master of Health Management and Master of Health Administration courses.
As a Sessional Academic in this unit, experience in a healthcare accounting setting is required. A minimum of two years of professional practice experience since CPA graduation and prior experience of providing accounting and financial management education is also desirable.
This role is casual and you will have access to professional development activities that support further development of educational roles.
