About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a dynamic role that blends research, teaching, and leadership. You will contribute to ground-breaking research while mentoring students and junior staff, shaping the next generation of experts. Working with a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you'll play a key part in advancing the department’s research in transport, while also building your independent research projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead independent research, manage project timelines, and contribute to the department’s cutting-edge research initiatives.
- Engage in teaching, mentoring students, and supervising junior research staff, while also participating in outreach activities.
- Prepare technical reports, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present your findings at national and local conferences.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and explore funding opportunities for future research projects.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about conducting innovative research and thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. You should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality research and effective communication.
You will also have:
- A PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- A proven track record of research excellence through publications in leading journals and conferences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and experience with maintaining accurate research records.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex research concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
