The Opportunity
The Institute of Railway Technology (IRT) is the premier track and vehicle research centre in Australia, and it provides world-leading solutions in the areas of wheel-rail interface design, track design and maintenance as well as rollingstock assessments and modelling. IRT undertakes technology development, applied research and consulting activities for the railway industry.
IRT is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer in Train Track Dynamics to join the team.
As the Senior Engineer, you will perform a range of activities related to the assessment and analysis of train-track interaction, which will often lead to individual research projects for enterprise partners.
Building on your current technical knowledge, you will be responsible for scoping and undertaking technical activities and deliverables related to a range of projects, utilising analytical techniques, production and refinement of railway asset models and the use and development of novel simulation and analysis techniques.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree in engineering and significant relevant experience undertaking dynamic modelling studies and related testing, monitoring and data collection. You will have highly-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a complex environment.
