The Opportunity
Are you passionate about creating engaging and innovative learning experiences to transform education? Western Sydney University, The College are seeking a number of Learning Designer’s to join their Blended Learning team.
As a Learning Designer, you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering cutting-edge learning design solutions for hybrid, blended, and online courses. Your role will involve managing projects and clients, and collaborating closely with subject matter experts, including lead academics, writers, and reviewers, to ensure that the content and assessment activities align with our College and University’s learning and design principles.
In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure our learning design solutions adhere to the University’s 21C principles and Quality Matters standards, while incorporating The College’s transition pedagogy principles. You will deliver student-centered, innovative learning experiences as part of our curriculum renewal efforts. Your pedagogical expertise will be crucial in providing sound learning design advice, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met during course and subject development. You will lead the development of curriculum, ensuring that subject matter and assessments are engaging, authentic, and suitable for hybrid, blended, and online delivery. Additionally, you will advise on the creation of innovative media, learning objects, and resources to enhance student learning. Your project management skills will be essential in planning, scheduling, and managing the learning design process to meet quality outcomes, timeframes, and budgets. Staying up to date with the latest developments in digital curriculum development, learning technologies, and project management will be key to your success.
We have the multiple opportunities available; a mixture of Full-Time Ongoing Positions and Full-Time Fixed-Term Positions until 11 July 2025.
These positions will be based at The College’s Nirimba Campus (Blacktown) and/or Parramatta Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Please review the position description for further information.
About You
You are a passionate and innovative learning designer with a strong background in e-Learning, Learning Design, or Education, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience. You excel in applying pedagogical principles across various learning environments and thrive on collaboration with academics and stakeholders to create engaging, aligned learning experiences and authentic assessments. You are proficient with Learning Management Systems like Blackboard and Canvas and are adept at identifying issues and proposing solutions in dynamic settings. Your project management skills enable you to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently. With exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, you build strong networks and relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Working with Children Check
As the College provides education opportunities to a range of ages including under 18 years olds, it is a prerequisite to have/gain WWC clearance. It is a mandatory requirement to obtain and maintain a “NSW Working with Children Check Clearance” to work at The College.

Remuneration Package: Professional Staff Level 7 $116,862 p.a. (comprising Salary of $102,802 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading) in accordance with the College Enterprise Agreement.
