Overview:
Full-time, Fixed Term position until 24 December 2025
Salary Teacher level T1 – T5 (based on qualifications and industry experience) + Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University
About You
As a VE Teacher, your primary responsibilities will encompass the delivery of course material, assessment of students, and supervision of students enrolled in specific courses focused in RMIT Sports partnerships programs with Essendon Football Club and Cricket Victoria. You may also be required to work in other areas of the Business and Enterprise department as required.
Furthermore, active participation in the School’s ongoing reviews of course content, development, delivery, teaching methods (including online delivery methods), and methods of student assessment is expected. You will also be expected to engage with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Your performance will be supported by your participation in relevant activities to ensure that your vocational competence aligns with or exceeds the educational level being delivered and assessed.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have / you’ll have as a minimum:
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.
- Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
- Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
- Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
- Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
- Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
