The Opportunity
This is your chance to step into a newly established role as our Workplace Relations Coordinator and truly make it your own! As part of our Workplace Relations and Business Partner team, you'll collaborate with line managers across UniSC to help shape and deliver our people strategy. You'll provide trusted guidance on employee relations and People and Culture matters, ensuring smooth application of UniSC policies, practices, and industrial instruments. Supported by experienced senior leaders, you’ll also receive professional mentoring to grow your expertise, making this an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and evolving team environment with a passion and commitment to excellence.
You will
- Drive workplace relations initiatives and projects that strengthen UniSC’s approach to creating a positive and collaborative work environment;
- Promote a healthy, safe, and compliant workplace by ensuring alignment with legislation, Enterprise Agreements, policies, and workplace health and safety standards;
- Provide advice and recommendations to stakeholders on workplace relations and People and Culture matters, helping shape a supportive, engaged workforce;
- Play a key role in delivering exceptional client support while contributing to initiatives that boost efficiency and enhance our workplace experience.
About you:
Our ideal candidate is excited to take on this newly created role with ambition to make a real impact. You’ll bring enthusiasm and a proactive approach to supporting UniSC’s People & Culture initiatives, helping to drive our strategic goals. With your excellent communication skills, you’ll provide first-level advice on P&C matters, guiding managers, supervisors, and staff through minor grievances, employment conditions, and more. You’re ready to collaborate on case work, investigations, and cultural reviews, while ensuring compliance with workplace relations standards. You’ll also have an eye for detail, contributing to policy reviews, analysing workforce data, and maintaining records. Eager for professional development opportunities? To be successful you will possess:
- Proven experience providing workplace relations and P&C advice, with a solid understanding of Enterprise Agreements and the Australian industrial framework.
- Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders, building rapport and fostering effective working relationships.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- A sharp eye for interpreting, analysing, and solving problems, offering strategic and operational advice on various People & Culture matters.
