School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing
Science is fundamental to modern society and the School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing is dedicated to leadership in both teaching and research across a range of science related areas. The School is a leader in practice-based learning and applied research in a range of science related disciplines relevant to many of today’s professions, and we are particularly interested in candidates with research in the University’s flagship fields of health, space and defence, agriculture, and regional development.
Within the School our Computing discipline offers contemporary and innovative programs that support our students to be industry-ready for successful careers.
We are currently seeking passionate educators to join our dynamic team and make valued contributions to the Information Technology discipline at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
These roles would be suitable for education specialists looking to play a major role in the advancement of scholarly teaching and scholarly practices, and/or a teaching and research specialists looking to add further contributions to the high-quality teaching and research profile of the School.
Who you are:
- Able to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics, professional staff and external stakeholders to deliver industry-leading educational material.
- Possess knowledge and expertise in the areas of Games Development, Networking and Cyber Security, and Software Applications and Cloud Development.
- Have experience in ICT industry, development of course curriculum design and teaching pedagogy.
What you'll do:
Collaborating with an outstanding research team of authoritative and dedicated academics and professionals you will:
- work collaboratively with the Computing and Information Technology team to develop, deliver and update a range of courses focussing on Games Development, Software Applications, Cloud Computing, Networking and Cyber Security;
- promote and market computing-related programs;
- undertake high quality Computational research particularly in Networking and Security, Software Applications and Cloud Development, and other priority research areas;
- supervise HDR and/or research project students and capstone projects.
What will help you succeed:
- A Doctorate in Computing or an equivalent qualification in a closely related discipline, or a Master degree combined with significant senior experience in IT services delivery. Progression towards completion of a Doctoral qualification would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, multi-mode teaching of computing courses in one or more of the following areas: Networking and Security, Software Applications and Cloud Computing.
- Recent and high-quality research contributions in Computer Science and IT areas.
- Ability to undertake quality research as evidenced by publication in high quality journals, competitive research grant funding and successful HDR supervision.

Salary: Total remuneration range $128,506 to $151,889 pa (includes salary range of $108,581 to $128,339 pa based on full-time equivalent, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
