About the office/school: The Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business comprises two vibrant schools: the School of Arts & Sciences, and the School of Law & Business. We are also home to the Nulungu Research Institute, a unique multidisciplinary centre located in the Kimberley region. Our national Faculty is based on three distinct campuses in Fremantle, Sydney and Broome.
About the role: Reporting to the Executive Dean this role is responsible for the management and coordination of the Faculty’s operational services.
Key Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Executive Dean, lead the development and implementation of the Faculty’s strategic and business plans, defining Faculty strategic support for its teaching and learning, research and engagement agendas, strategic priorities, including the setting of local targets and implementing programs that support their achievement.
- Develop and manage effective systems for determining and monitoring the Faculty’s budget, with a strong emphasis on financial and business planning, analysis, forecasting and reporting functions, including negotiating and monitoring the achievement of Faculty revenue targets.
- Support and provide input into operational governance matters, business planning, and implementation, including providing key support for the Executive Dean and central administration in enrolment planning, monitoring, and reporting to support target achievement.
- Provide high level assistance to researchers on grant submissions and reporting, variations to deeds and ongoing financial management of grants.
- Coordination of regular reporting of Faculty KPIs to the DVC Learning & Teaching's Office including inputs to academic and corporate governance reporting and manage Faculty operations and infrastructure in support of the Executive Dean.
Qualifications, skills & experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification including post graduate tertiary qualifications in either business, finance, law, operational or HR management and/or,
- Equivalent extensive experience in senior management in a complex organisation, demonstrating experience in the management of significant human and material resources.
- Excellent operational and project management skills including the ability to analyse complex issues and problems, develop feasible solutions, and manage multiple concurrent complex projects from initiation through to completion.
