About This Opportunity
We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and energetic Student and Academic Administration Assistant to provide a range of student administrative support services within the Faculty of Medicine, Student Administration Team.
As the first point of contact for student, staff and the general public, you will play a crucial role in providing efficient, accurate friendly and professional support and the advice (via face to face, email and telephone). This role plays an important part of creating a welcoming and supportive student experience within the Faculty of Medicine.
Reporting to the Coordinator, Student Administration, this role is responsible for a diverse range of administrative processing tasks associated with enrolment and student academic matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality customer service to enhance student experience, including managing enquiries, scheduling appointments, and issuing identification cards.
- Support various events such as Orientation, TSXPO, UQ Open Day, and Doctor of Medicine Multiple Mini Interviews, sometimes outside standard business hours.
- Assist with secretariat duties for meetings and working groups, including scheduling, mail distribution, and workplace provisions oversight.
Location and Travel
The Faculty of Medicine is based at the Herston campus, some travel between campuses and other locations may be required.

About You
- Completion of a diploma level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- High level computing skills, preferably using Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent interpersonal and written skills, a commitment to providing high level customer service.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to organise workloads to meet competing demands and deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
- An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of University student computer systems and packages e.g. Microsoft office, SI-net, Business Objects, iSuite packages and the use of CRM systems is desirable.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, background check.
