About the Role
The Health and Safety Project Support Officer will assist in the implementation and coordination of health and safety projects and initiatives. They will work collaboratively with the health and safety services team to provide administrative and logistical support, maintain accurate records, and communication materials. This position aims to enhance the University’s safety culture and facilitate proactive risk management practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of health and safety projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met effectively.
- Provide administrative assistance to the health and safety team, including managing documentation and tracking project progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records, including project documentation, compliance data, and relevant reports, while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Develop and disseminate communication materials to promote health and safety programs, foster safety awareness, and engage stakeholders effectively.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a Health and Safety professional with experience coordinating occupational health monitoring programs in a large organisation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in project planning, deadline management, and effective communication. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with stakeholders and working collaboratively within a team.
You will also have:
- The appointee will have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training per the current Enterprise Agreement classifications.
- Previous experience working in Health and Safety within a large and complex organisation is required.
- Previous experience coordinating occupational health monitoring programs is desired.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
