Salary
  • Base salary will be in the range $110,365 - $130,765 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B)

Responsibilities
  • Develop an independent or team research program to achieve national recognition and impact, leading research outputs through publications and conferences.
  • Actively seek and manage competitive research funding, collaborate on joint projects, and contribute to translating knowledge into practical applications, including commercialisation.
  • Demonstrate effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, with a focus on developing researcher skills and capabilities.
  • Lead and mentor supervisees, providing feedback, coaching, and professional development while managing staff effectively throughout their career cycle.
  • Show leadership by mentoring, collaborating, and actively participating in key activities for the unit, and supporting team members during absences.
  • Engage in internal service roles, administrative duties, and external collaborations with industry, government, and the wider community.

Requirements
  • Completion of a PhD in Immunology.
  • A growing profile in research in autoimmunity and tolerance.
  • A developing reputation and track record of high-impact publications in reputed refereed journals and presentations at conferences.
  • Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
  • A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
  • Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, education check and mandatory immunisations.
