Why The Role Matters:
The Teaching Support Officer, Online Programs plays a key role in supporting academics with teaching delivery administration within the Online Programs at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) and the Business School.
This role sits with the Business Online Operations team at AGSM, working closely with the Operations Manager and Senior Student Experience Coordinator to provide strong administrative teaching support to key internal and external stakeholders across the UNSW Business School and the Lifelong Learning (LLL) unit. This role will ensure the teaching function and its associated tasks across all participating Schools are delivered efficiently and appropriately for UNSW Business School Online courses and programs.
Skills and Experience:
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and experience to analyse and resolve complex and sensitive issues efficiently and effectively.
- High proficiency in standard Microsoft applications and demonstrated ability to learn, implement, and promote new systems. Experience using a student management system would be highly regarded.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
Accountabilities:
- Deliver consistent, accurate and customer focused advice to solve diverse teaching/education related enquiries.
- Establish and maintain a high level of communication and administration regarding the Learning Management System (LMS) to support the faculties learning and teaching goals.
- Apply, interpret and advise on policies, systems, rules, procedures and guidelines relevant to Teaching Support activities across the Faculty.
- Monitor and report on current and forecasted enrolment numbers and class utilisation to assist with teaching allocation.
- Work collaboratively to provide support to the wider team during peak periods.
- Act as the coordinator for relevant complex processes that involve cooperation between the schools and other administrative units, such as the administration and timely preparation of casual academic contracts and salary claims.
- Support school and program-specific administration needs, including but not limited to, administering student experience surveys, general secretarial duties at school/committee meetings and undertaking school and faculty term planning activities.
- Monitor, track, and report on task status to ensure time and quality metrics are met.
- Provide administrative support to Teaching and Learning Committees and Program Review Committees, as required.
