ACS Veterinary Officer

Salary
  • Base salary range: $112,114 – $122,544 p.a.(pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and prescribe treatment for conditions of animals held within the Animal Care Services facilities including the supervision of restricted drug use.
  • Contribute to the development of competency training for ACS staff and researchers.
  • Advise the Senior Veterinary Officer in relevant aspects of the health care, wellbeing and welfare of animals used for teaching and research.
  • Conduct procedures requiring the anaesthesia and recovery of animals used for research and teaching.

Requirements
  • Commitment to welfare and care of animals in a research teaching environment.
  • A tertiary qualification in veterinary science or equivalent qualification suitable for registration in Western Australia.
  • High quality interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and interact with all Animal Care Services stakeholders.
