POSITION DESCRIPTION
Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is looking to appoint a Senior Solutions Architect. This position is offered on a Full-time term basis and is based at our Bebegu Yumba campus in Townsville. Classified as HEWL 9 the salary is $122,944 - $130,040 + 17% superannuation.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
This role provides the scope to use your skills and experience to shape effective solutions architectures in alignment with strategies, operational goals, and technology roadmaps. Your creative thinking will be essential in developing and maintaining reference architectures, as well as creating standards, patterns, and technology roadmaps. You will be collaborating with diverse university stakeholders to ensure technology strategies and solutions align seamlessly with our Enterprise Architecture direction.
You will adeptly manage solution design choices, cost-effectiveness, risk mitigation, and technical challenges to execute our technology strategy and bring feasible solution architectures to fruition. As the Senior Solutions Architect, you will be a crucial part of our transformative journey, driving innovation and excellence.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
As an experienced IT professional with degree qualification or equivalent experience, you will have a background encompassing contemporary information technology environments, cloud architectures, and integration approaches. You must exhibit a track record of successful solution architecture engagement coupled with a comprehensive understanding of architecture governance functions, architecture frameworks, and best practices. Your knowledge will include an understanding of information security frameworks, while showcasing exceptional organisational aptitude, analytical acumen, and adept time management. Your excellence in written communication, spanning both technical and non-technical domains, will be integral in developing key artefacts and documentation.
