Base salary will be in the range $64,963.44 - $71,505.71 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 3)
Based at Gatton Campus with occasional travel to St Lucia when required
About This Opportunity
This position provides a range of technical and specialist skills and services, which support the work of the Research Team on various projects related to breeding, physiology and agronomy of rice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Technical capabilities in the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Contribute to the safe and efficient operations of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies and protocols.
- Foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
- Experience using plant physiology equipment and methodologies.
- Assist in the development of research documentation and administrative processes.
- Prepare basic graphs and figures for presentations and manuscripts.
- Provide general research support, including ordering and maintaining consumables.
- Actively participate in research group meetings.

About You
- Completion of a Year Twelve or Diploma qualification, or a Certificate IV with relevant work experience; or Completion of a post-trades certificate and relevant experience and on the job training; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
- An understanding of the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Computer and database literacy skills including the Microsoft Office suite.
- High level inter-personal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Commitment to excellence and an ability to work diligently with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety.
