About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary resource for delivering technical and expert support for teaching and research activities, including instructing staff and students on the effective use of specialised laboratory equipment.
- Managing laboratory operations by facilitating the purchase of new equipment, maintaining compliance with operational and safety standards, and overseeing laboratory inventory and documentation.
- Designing and conducting experiments using specialised equipment, providing technical support for material testing and environmental data analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Preparing for and supporting practical classes and field trips, including conducting inspections, self-audits, and maintaining accurate records of teaching and research activities.
Who We Are Looking For

You will also have:
- A relevant degree or trade, or equivalent experience in supporting teaching and research facilities, particularly in geotechnical, soil, rock, or civil sectors.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Familiarity with Australian OHS legislation and hands-on experience in geotechnical testing and compliance with relevant standards.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
