About the Role
As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Western Sydney University, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation, leading the University’s IT and Cyber initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, this role is pivotal in aligning the University’s technology strategy with its broader institutional goals. The CIO will be a critical driver of innovation, enhancing the University’s digital landscape while ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of its IT services.
You will oversee the development and implementation of university-wide digital strategies, working closely with senior leaders to support the institution’s teaching, research, and community objectives. You will guide the integration of technology across all areas of the University, ensuring seamless and secure delivery of services. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the University’s future, contributing to the execution of the new University Strategy and enhancing its digital capabilities.

You are a visionary leader with a proven track record in driving large-scale digital transformation and delivering strategic IT initiatives within complex organisations. With an ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, you have the experience and skills to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Your expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital strategy will be critical in helping Western Sydney University stay ahead of emerging trends while maintaining operational excellence.
As a strategic thinker, you possess exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to build strong relationships across the University and with external partners. You are well-versed in the nuances of the higher education sector, and your leadership will ensure the University remains competitive and innovative in a fast-evolving digital world.
