Salary
  • competitive hourly rates as per Macquarie Uni’s schedule for casual academic rates of pay

Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of teaching and associated duties, including undertaking tutorial classes and marking assessment tasks in several undergraduate units within the Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences course.
  • Conduct tutorials for units such as Introduction to Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, Memory, Experimental Design and Data Analysis, Reading in the Mind and Brain, Computational Neuroscience, and Space and Time in the Brain.
  • Provide student consultation and support as needed.

Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification or current enrolment in a higher degree research program relevant to the teaching discipline.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • The right to work in Australia for the duration of the session.
  • Experience tutoring in previous offerings of these units or similar units is preferred.
  • Background in cognitive science, psychology or neuroscience-related field is desirable.
