About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC) Research at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research. You will perform laboratory-based research and provide administrative support for multiple gynaecological cancer biomarker and translational research projects.
QCGC Research builds on a series of successful and ongoing clinical trials and research projects to combine the complementary strengths of its team members and partners to accelerate its aims towards reducing the current and future burden of gynaecological cancer and to develop kinder, less invasive and more effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. It is an exciting time to join the team!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and conducting research studies under senior supervision.
- Apply advanced research skills, including biomarker analysis from human tissue and blood samples.
- Assist with drafting research documentation (ethics, funding applications).
- Conduct literature searches and reviews.

About You
Completion of a degree level qualification in science; or completion of a Diploma with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Excellent practical research skills and experience in conducting laboratory work, particularly handling human samples.
High level administrative and computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Zoom, Teams), with proven experience and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently on routine procedures and to seek advice where needed.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and mandatory immunisations.
