About the Role
The Event Operations Delivery Lead reports directly to the Head of Events within the Communications & Marketing team and leads a team of event staff in delivering a variety of virtual, hybrid, and in-person events to effectively engage diverse audiences.
In this role, you will proactively identify opportunities and implement best-practice processes to drive consistency across faculties and Chancellery portfolios. Additionally, you will improve the visibility of faculty-led events through consistent and valuable reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Schedule, plan and deliver the annual events plan across Chancellery and faculties
- Allocate resources to manage workload fluctuations and liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to develop annual budget tracker for events
- Provide advice and access to self-serve event planning tools and information on emerging event practices across 'Deliver-it-yourself' DIY events for in person, hybrid, and online events
- Seek opportunities to leverage technologies to introduce new and improved processes

You will also have:
- Extensive experience in supporting major, high-profile events within a large complex environment, developing and implementing communication programs to effectively engage audiences
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent supplier relationships including contract review and management, with special reference to pricing and service delivery
- Experience managing people and virtual teams
- Relationship management experience and expertise – and ability to work with senior executives

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
