About the Role
The Enterprise Platform Services Manager leads a team within Business Services, overseeing the University's central infrastructure and public cloud platforms. This role ensures the security, availability, and performance of core IT operations while driving continuous improvement and cost-effective services. The Manager also provides strategic advice, represents the University in key forums, and collaborates with peers to align with broader technology strategies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the continuous improvement of the technical services and solutions within the scope of Enterprise Platform Services, as well as the associated management practices, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency, capacity, and availability, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Lead and manage the availability, support and maintenance of the core enterprise infrastructure and platforms to ensure they operate as required to meet service requirements and client expectations outlined in the documented service agreements.
- Develop and deliver the operational plans and budgets for platforms and infrastructure including lifecycle renewal and service improvement opportunities in close alignment with Enterprise Architecture.
- Ensure that services and solutions comply with university cybersecurity, compliance, and backup policies, working closely with internal and external teams for effective implementation.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written, while showcasing leadership, initiative, and sound decision-making abilities. They are proactive in driving outcomes and effectively guide teams to success.
You will also have:
- A post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrate Business Services values by acting in the best interest of your employer; displaying service excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people, and building relationships in your workplace.
- Significant experience in managing large-scale infrastructure operations with a proven track record of service delivery to meet client expectations, including the use of efficient practices such as automation, infrastructure-as-code, and other modern methodologies to streamline operations and improve performance and scalability.
- Demonstrable achievements in service improvement to clients through implementation of organisational change, development of a client focused culture and establishment of appropriate processes and measures.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
