Salary
  • Base salary will be in the range $78,944.40 - $87,750.37 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5)

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely verbal and written advice to academic staff, School administrative staff and students regarding procedures and related policies for assessment, examinations and results/grades.
  • Process student requests and applications regarding assessment including extensions, deferred exams, and re-marks, responding to general student enquiries in accordance with University and Faculty policies.
  • Support course coordinators in processing and uploading course grades each semester, finalising outstanding grades, and submitting requests to amend grades.
  • Liaise between Course Coordinators and Central Examinations to ensure accurate and timely entry of examination requests in the UQ Exams Management System (EMS).
  • Provide relevant information and recommendations to decision makers in relation to student matters in accordance with University rules, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant area; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
  • A sound understanding of administrative processes relevant to student and academic administration, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines, with high level of attention to detail in written tasks.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and to work independently and autonomously.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the team and across other organisational units.
  • An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience in a tertiary education institution or other large organisation in an area related to student administration would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of University student computer systems and packages e.g. Microsoft office, SI-net, Business Objects, UniTask, InPlace and the use of CRM systems is desirable.
