The Division of Enterprise
Within the Research, Enterprise and Global Division (REG), the Enterprise unit is a critical bridge between the University's research and innovation capacity and the University's industry, government and community partners.
Enterprise has a strategic priority to support the University's enhanced academic and industry partnerships in key international regions. Building on Sustaining Success and the Global Futures plans, Western is developing a dedicated new strategy to partner in the United Kingdom and European Union. Partnerships will be expected to support international student recruitment, two-way student exchange, research engagement with leading institutions and industry groups, institutional reputation, and profile.
The Opportunity
Launch Pad is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join the team until 5 September 2025 backfilling the Manager, Launch Pad Operations & Programs position. This opportunity is your chance to make a contribution to the entrepreneurial landscape of Western Sydney. As the Manager of Launch Pad Operations & Programs, you’ll oversee the seamless management of our operations, including strategic planning, finance, people, facilities, and marketing. Your day-to-day will involve coordinating memberships, community management, and administrative tasks, while also preparing essential planning documents, funding applications, and financial reports.
You’ll be at the forefront of developing and implementing training programs designed to support entrepreneurs, tech start-ups, and SMEs. Your efforts will help foster innovation and entrepreneurial activity in the Western Sydney region. In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders across the University and external partners, including corporates, government agencies, and industry groups, to attract resources and support for start-ups. Additionally, you’ll design and deliver learning content and mentoring systems to help program participants achieve their goals, from value proposition development to international market access.
This is a full-time, fixed term position until 5th September 2025 based at Hassall Street Campus (Parramatta), although travel to other campuses of the University and locations may be required. Please review the position description for further information.
About You
You’re a proactive professional with a bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field or relevant experience in large organisation operations. You’ve successfully run incubator or accelerator programs and have the ability to provide expert start-up advice and mentoring in business initiation, marketing, finance, and investment attraction. Your strong connections within the innovation ecosystem, both locally and internationally, are invaluable. Strong analytical skills help you prepare detailed business plans and risk assessments. Applicants must have experience in developing and delivering business training, workshops, and networking events. An understanding of digital transformation and related technologies like IoT, AI, and VR are essential to drive innovation.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 9 $155,690 to $166,265 p.a. (comprising Salary of $131,560 to $140,496 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
