About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to oversee and administer the University’s Network Access environments, ensuring the technical and operational stability, functionality, and relevance of systems and infrastructure, thereby facilitating high-quality outcomes that align with Business Unit and Divisional objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee all facets of Network Access Services, ensuring compliance with best practices, customer expectations, and Service Level Agreements.
- Offer technical guidance to team members, clients, and various University departments, providing expertise and support to project managers and teams throughout the project lifecycle, especially during the design and build phases.
- Negotiate, collaborate, and engage with suppliers, service providers, system integrators, and both business and technical teams to deliver high-quality services and solutions.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for people who will oversee all elements of Network Access Services, ensuring adherence to best practices, customer expectations, and Service Level Agreements. Confidence in delivering advanced technical advice to team members, clients, and other departments within the University.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining large-scale Routing and Switching infrastructure within a complex environment.
- Complementary skills or knowledge in any large-scale Software Defined Access (SDA) network environments, Cisco Catalyst Centre, Cisco Identity Services Engine or Network Automation.
- Demonstratable skills in project delivery and/or Network Operations.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
