Salary

Responsibilities
  • Develop strong external relationships with ministerial offices, government departments and agencies
  • Implement the University’s federal and state government relations strategy
  • Support VU's advocacy efforts on funding, policy, and infrastructure priorities
  • Prepare presentations and submissions to government
  • Manage government relations activities with Federal and State Governments
  • Manage visits and events to Victoria University from Members of Parliament, Ministers and senior department representatives
  • Provide leadership and advice on government policy and issues impacting the University's strategic and business operations
  • Develop advocacy documents, funding applications and proposals to State and Federal Government
  • Ensure positive working relationships and day-to-day communication with stakeholders
  • Respond to enquiries from government officials and University staff

Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of the political, parliamentary and legislative processes of government
  • Proven commitment to applying a high level of quality assurance and relevant policies, procedures and legislations
  • Excellent communication, cross-cultural, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a high performing team environment
