This is a full-time, continuing position with salary in the range $89,861.38 - $96,402.32 (HEW 6), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity
As a Senior Widening Participation Officer (Mentoring), you will play a crucial role in supporting the University's commitment to widening participation. You will design and implement mentoring programs for students from underrepresented groups as articulated through the Queensland Commitment, helping them navigate their pathway to university. You will also collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure the success of these programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Mentoring Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the Widening Participation team to design and implement effective mentoring programs that encourage student engagement and support their pathway to university. Coordinate and deliver the Young Achiever Program Mentor Programs.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders interested in mentoring students from underrepresented groups. Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure engagement activities are well-communicated, supported, and aligned with UQ's strategic objectives. Collaborate with the central mentoring team to recruit, train, and support student volunteers, mentors, and partners.
- Content Development, Data Analysis, and Program Evaluation: Manage content for relevant web pages and develop resources to support student engagement. Assist in identifying and developing appropriate data sources and analysis options. Develop key performance indicators to measure program success and impact.
- Other duties as reasonably required.
About You
- Minimum three years relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in project development and delivery to enhance the student experience within a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data, develop reports, and draft documents accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, provide advice, and liaise with diverse stakeholders. Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in volunteer engagement or mentoring programs. Awareness of issues related to widening participation, student experience, retention, and employability.
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
