About You
We're looking for an HSW Coordinator to manage all things HSW within the College of Vocational Education (VE). You'll be handling services, engagement, communications, planning, and operations. By engaging and planning effectively, you'll help our OH&S and HSW committees achieve their goals, making sure our students and staff enjoy a safe and positive learning and teaching environment.
You'll get plenty of support from the RMIT HR HSW team and other VE teams. As the leader of the VE HSW team, you'll ensure we deliver top-notch and responsive HSW services that meet all relevant legislation.
You'll also be working closely with other Colleges and Portfolios to set up effective systems, processes, and supports. Plus, you'll be the go-to person for the Manager when needed.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- A knowledge and application of OHS legislation and regulations and experience in a multi-site environment
- Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills including complaint handling, building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in providing high-level support, advice and stakeholder engagement within a large complex organisation
- Demonstrated conceptual, planning and organisational skills with the proven ability to lead projects, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

Our planning and resources function puts the student at the centre of our thinking through a precinct-based approach that delivers the right support where it is needed most. This enables us to deliver a consistent student and staff experience with differentiation between whole of college services and bespoke units or functions. The shared services model which underpins this team is designed to assist with flexible resourcing and service delivery to meet the cadence, requirements and nature of University business.
