Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
Base salary range: Level 6 $91,833 - $97,052 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The UWA Institute of Agriculture was established by The University of Western Australia with a mandate to integrate agricultural and related natural resource management research, education, training, and communication across the University. The Institute works with the University's Schools, other Australian institutions, and International organisations to deliver advanced science, education and training for the benefit of mankind.
About the opportunity
You will work under limited direction to implement The UWA Institute of Agriculture's Communication Plan.
The role requires liaison with staff affiliated with The UWA Institute of Agriculture and communication with postgraduate students in Schools and Centres throughout the University who are involved in agricultural research and teaching activities.
Key activities include:
- Publishing a 20-page newsletter 3x per year and annual research report
- Managing public lectures and events
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or considerable relevant experience in a similar role
- Substantial relevant communication, marketing, and event management experience
- Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, graphic design, and website development
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the agricultural industry, higher education sector and media industry
- Proficient in digital photography, video and editing programs
- Note: An ability to work flexible hours and undertake travel if required
