The Opportunity
The Digital Foundations Program was established in 2023 to position UniSC for future success through access to modern work and technology practices. We have recently finalised strategies across the Digital Workplace and Cloud Services and are delivering early capabilities identified within the UniSC AI Roadmap.
The work streams that the Senior Business Analyst will be involved with include:
- AI and Automation: analysing business requirements to enable work packages to be defined to develop our AI Copilots, enhancing automation through the Power Platform, and elevating our ITSM capabilities.
- Modern Collaboration: Improving M365 adoption, transitioning shared drives to M365, and pioneering Teams coursework to foster collaboration among academics and students.
- Modern Workspaces: Re-envisioning our Learning & Teaching spaces to adapt to the evolving landscape of AI and hybrid work, transitioning from Zoom to Teams Rooms, and deploying Windows 11 with Modern Management.
- Modern Architecture: Assisting the project team to lead the transformation of our Data Centres and transitioning to a Cloud Services operating model.
- Digital Re-brand: Undertaking initiatives to align our digital systems with our new brand identity - 'UniSC'.
You will analyse complex business processes, systems, and structures to identify requirements and drive successful improvements through a combination of business change and process optimisation. With a strong project delivery background, you will document both current and future state process maps, highlighting gaps and opportunities for enhancement. Engaging in high-level consultation with key stakeholders, you will gather requirements that impact the entire university, offering accurate advice and timely support. Additionally, you will ensure that effective communication and training are integral components of the process improvement initiatives.
You will
- Lead the business analysis of complex business processes, systems and structures, identifying business requirements and successfully implementing business improvements with a mix of business change and process improvement.
- Develop project management artefacts including but not limited to business cases, functional specifications, user acceptance test plans and communication plans.
- Manage the integration requirements of key digital projects to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of the solution across the organisation.
About you
As a technically adept and business-focused Business Analyst, you bring a passion for driving projects to completion on time while enhancing deliverable quality through close collaboration with governance teams, including PMO, Privacy, Data CAB, Cyber Security, Architecture, Change Board, Organisational Change, and Service Transition. Your strong business acumen equips you to lead digital impact assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies that optimise business processes. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you excel at conveying complex information, securing stakeholder buy-in, and engaging successfully with diverse groups across the organisation.
You will possess:
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications with subsequent extensive relevant experience and proven expertise in project delivery ideally within the higher education sector; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Understanding of and experience in the planning, development, integration and implementation of digital systems, applications and services, preferably within higher education.
- Ability to organise and manage multiple tasks to achieve successful outcomes in a timely manner through the establishment and maintenance of collaborative relationships across and outside the organisation.
- Experience and knowledge of guidelines, best practices and operating principles in alignment with frameworks and methodologies of one or more of the following will be highly regarded; ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, Six Sigma, BPMN.
