About Information Technology and Digital Services
Information Technology and Digital Services (ITDS) is a key enabling service provider within the University. It is responsible for the strategic deployment and use of information and communication technology services, systems, and infrastructure. The primary role of ITDS is to support the University's learning, teaching and research activities as well as the business systems and operational units that underpin the University's core activities.
About the role
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for managing and optimising the purchasing, deployment, maintenance, utilisation, and disposal of IT assets within WSU.
This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and implementing IT Asset Management processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with asset management policies and procedures, maintaining accurate inventory of IT assets, and providing strategic planning for future IT asset purchasing. The IT Asset Manager also collaborates with various departments to understand their IT needs and aligns these with the organisation’s IT strategy and budget. Their goal is to maximise the value of IT investments and minimise risks associated with IT assets. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the WSU IT infrastructure meets its business objectives.
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for managing IT assets at WSU and establishing the related configuration management process while also coordinating configuration management with other CMDB users, and analysts. IT assets are tangible and intangible items broadly known as IT hardware, software, and licenses. Management of these assets is often referred to as HAM and SAM, that is Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management.
About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, education, administration, technical, management, or finance, or equivalent experience in a large and complex organisation. An ITIL Certification is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing IT assets and Configuration Management Processes, including conducting audits, analysing data, reconciling discrepancies, and developing and implementing processes and procedures for asset management. They should possess the ability to design and create processes related to IT Asset and Configuration Management, and have a strong understanding of software licensing agreements, including their terms, conditions, and potential consequences of non-compliance. Experience with remote software deployment principles and their licensing implications is desirable. Additionally, the candidate should have experience managing the financial lifecycle of IT assets, from invoice review and approval to resolving discrepancies and reconciling accounts. The candidate should also demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $134,532 to $149,345 p.a. (comprising Salary of $113,681 to $126,198 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
