Coordinate and enhance teaching in chronic health and cancer subjects for entry to practice and postgraduate nursing programs, contributing to curriculum development and the scholarship of learning and teaching.
Lead nursing education at The University of Melbourne, enhancing postgraduate programs through innovative, evidence-based teaching of science based subjects.

About the Role
The position, located within the Department of Nursing at The University of Melbourne, focuses on teaching excellence and enhancing the student experience through evidence-based practice. Responsibilities include coordinating bioscience and clinical practice subjects across postgraduate nursing programs, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting simulation design and delivery. The appointee will also advance the scholarship of learning and teaching, holding a national profile as a leader in nursing education and promoting inter-professional learning and practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Make a significant contribution to the development of curriculum and delivery of educational programs using online and blended modes of delivery in nursing practice
- Identification of appropriate approaches to teaching through analysis of learning needs of students
- Demonstrate a proactive reflexive teaching practice through seeking guidance from senior teaching staff and student feedback
- Apply contemporary pedagogical insights to teaching practice, including those specific to the discipline of nursing
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively managing time and coordinating multiple tasks while demonstrating the faculty values of respect, accountability, compassion, collaboration and teamwork, and integrity in interactions with students and key stakeholders.
You will also have:
- A masters degree in nursing and recent clinical experience working in nursing
- A completed or close to completed PhD in nursing or health related discipline
- Experienced in delivering nursing award programs, curriculum design and development, creating assessment materials, course evaluation, and program coordination in nursing practice.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
