About This Opportunity
You will be primarily responsible for formal communications across the Alumni and Community Engagement portfolio within UQ Advancement, including executive communications and reporting. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will also contribute to the delivery of a wide range of community engagement initiatives and upcoming major philanthropic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, write and edit feature articles, news items and other content for a range of print and electronic publications such as magazines, electronic direct mail and websites.
- Research, write and edit donor reporting and support with communications for stewardship activities.
- Assist with report preparation for personalised donor endowment and impact reports for key donors including content writing and checking.
- Assist in the preparation of executive communications, including receipt and acknowledgement letters for donors.
- Support UQ Advancement programs including Giving Day and other annual appeal activities.
- Assisting other Advancement staff across the University with their communications requirements as needed.
This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at HEW Level 5, based at St Lucia.

About You
- Completion of a Bachelor degree offering strong skills in writing, research and editing, ideally in Journalism, Communications or a related area.
- A strong client focus, the ability to liaise effectively with management and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure, to establish priorities, and to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding written communication skills, including the ability to produce accurate, professional and personalised correspondence for a variety of clients and colleagues.
- High-level proofreading, editing skills, organisational and project management skills, including an ability to set, enforce and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
- Displays a high level of personal integrity when dealing with confidential information.
- Shows creativity and initiative in all aspects of work, and actively contributes to a vibrant team culture.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc.
