Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Technical Collections Coordinator working with RMIT Art Collection.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and with key stakeholders across the University to support the care, management and access of RMIT’s art assets.
  • Apply specialist collections expertise to carry out collection registration, auditing, digitisation, object handling, art installation, integrated pest management, and preventative conservation and collection research.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in collection management practices, including the application of national and international principles, practices, standards, and ethics relating to the documentation and care of cultural collections.
  • Experience in the storage, handling, rehousing and installation of a variety of art collection object types.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using Axiell Emu or a comparable collections management database.
  • High level interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to provide a high-quality service to students and researchers, and to contribute as an effective member of a small team.
  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills and a well-developed ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.

Benefits
  • Part-time (0.8/28.8 hours per week), Fixed Term position until October 2025.
