Responsibilities
Provide individual and group student success coaching to students throughout their journey at The College, focusing on pastoral care, integrated academic support, and career guidance.
Monitor student progress and prioritize student needs to improve retention and success.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Student Success Framework.
Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex student issues, advocate for student needs, and promote the student success coaching model with the curriculum.
Requirements
Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent education/training.
Passion for and knowledge of coaching and mentoring approaches to enhance student services and engagement.
Proficient in applying student engagement and career management theories within a tertiary context.
Understanding of the challenges faced by students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
Analytical thinker and problem solver.
Highly organized with excellent computer literacy and administrative skills.
Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
Benefits
Professional Staff Level 6 salary of $104,055 p.a. (comprising Salary of $91,536 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).

The College will have its annual end of year close down from 19 December 2024 to 1 January 2025, and will reopen on 2 January 2025.

Responsibilities
Assist with contacting students/families requiring more in-depth support and options for college financial planning; working with families identified as needing additional review of financial circumstances.
Inform and advise students and parents—in person, by email, and on the phone— regarding available aid programs, eligibility criteria, application and award processes, debt history, loan options, loan obligations, and the like. Assist in completing and processing applications.
Deliver high level of customer service in accordance with current and developing standards of the department, which involve embracing a student-centric philosophy, to create an exceptional student experience for prospective and current students as well as alumni.
Assist with billing outreach; contact families with outstanding balances and offer information and options.
Assist with student retention efforts by helping to work with students in danger of withdrawing due to financial reasons.
Assist with improving and delivering communications (i.e. written, in-person, visual, website).
Assist in coordinating and participating outgoing call campaigns.
Help to establish and oversee regular monitoring of Student Financial Services social media.
Assist in developing and disseminating financial literacy and student debt management tools and strategies; assist in delivering student workshops and informational sessions & events (i.e. Student Wellness Fair; Student Orientation).
Assisting in data collection related to student contact and outreach to determine effectiveness of outreach strategies (i.e. call center data, other traffic flow data, social media data).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred and three to five years in Student Financial Services, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Familiarity with financial aid process preferred.
Familiarity with higher education setting preferred.
Excellent communication skills in order to successfully counsel students and respond to student concerns; ability to be compassionate and empathetic when faced with difficult family situations; ability to establish relationships with students and families.
Ability to create and design communications in a variety of mediums and formats.
Solid word processing, spreadsheet and research/data analysis capabilities.
Experience with Banner or other higher education software preferred.
Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed, in order to access students and do presentations and workshops.
Sales experience a plus.

Direct management of the University’s long-range financial plan ensuring operating budget, fundraising, investment, debt, capital projects, and other non-operating activities are properly captured and forecasted.
Manage and provide reporting on the University’s multi-year capital budget that includes annual capital renewals, planned capital investments, and ongoing deferred maintenance.
Aid in the development of detailed funding, financing, and acquisition plans for capital projects on the multi-year plan, and the preparation of capital project funding approval materials for the Board of Trustees.
Develop and monitor capital expenditure plans in consultation with Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration, Facilities Management, and Information Technology Services.
Maintenance of the multi-year financial plan and monitor progress towards established financial benchmarks in accordance with the University’s financial strategic plan adopted by the Board of Trustees.
Coordinate with external partners to manage process associated with financial strategic planning and University debt issuances.
Developing and managing critical relationships with key stakeholders such as Vice Presidents, Deans, Associate Deans, Department Heads, Directors, Financial Managers and Controller.
Develop and maintain ongoing financial reports and presentations for senior financial leadership, Board of Trustees, divisions and departments.
Provide analytical support for special projects as requested by UNE’s executive leadership in the areas of capital budget, debt planning, and financial planning and analysis.
Maintain capital budget process and policy documents.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least seven years of experience in increasingly responsible related positions.
At least 7 years of budget, finance or accounting experience required with 5 years of capital and debt budget and planning, forecasting and financial analysis experience strategically supporting a leadership management team.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of current best practices in the areas of capital budgeting, debt planning, long-range financial planning, financial ratio analysis, analytics, and forecasting.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a climate of strong ethics, trust, and credibility; work collaboratively with units across the institution and provide sound decision support to senior leadership.
Analytical aptitude, collaborative nature, clear communicator, mission driven, experience with financial modeling and accounting (especially in higher education or not-for-profits)
Experience in IBM COGNOS or similar data reporting tool.
Advance Microsoft Excel skill level
Strong data aggregation, manipulation and analysis ability
Knowledge of sound financial management and budgeting practices and principles; proven ability to work independently in analyzing and resolving complex financial problems; experience with higher education or not-for-profit capital budgeting.
High level of analytical ability, emotional intelligence, and organizational, communication, and relational skill.
