Responsibilities
Preparation and delivery of seminars, lectures and tutorials into the Development Studies teaching programs.
Subject Coordination, including the supervision of teaching support staff where required.
Consultation with students and participation in student advising.
Marking and assessment and finalising results in line with School, Faculty and University policies, processes, and deadlines.
Administrative tasks associated with the subjects taught including the development of subject LMS sites, readings online, subject guides, gradebook and setting assessment tasks.
Assist Student Services and the ASO team with Special Consideration and Academic Integrity queries and outcomes.
Supervision of honours/graduate students.
Requirements
A completed PhD in Development Studies or a closely related discipline.
Proven research expertise in the area of Gender and Development and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate level, specifically in this area.
Demonstrated ability to supervise honours and graduate coursework thesis students.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the learning orientations of a diverse student cohort, combined with the ability to apply this knowledge and understanding to create inclusive learning environments.
An emerging record of pedagogical and/or academic research that informs and enhances teaching practice.
