Responsibilities
Lead the management of staff, activities and coordination of the ATLAS Indigenous Primary Care Surveillance Network.
Develop, manage and report on competitive research funding.
Ensure project goals and deliverables are achieved in terms of quality, budget, content, and timelines.
Assist with knowledge translation, including oversight of research output and quality improvement of the surveillance system.
Plan, schedule, monitor, and evaluate projects, adjusting as priorities change.
Maintain research protocols and ethical approvals, including application preparation, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
Provide analysis and progress reports on projects and research outcomes.
Liaise with all participating communities and health services to undertake the ATLAS network program activities.
Work with research databases and conduct data analysis and epidemiology studies.
Provide supervision to students including Higher Degree by Research students.
Requirements
Completion of a PhD in public health, health and/or health systems field.
Experience in infectious disease particularly STIs/BBVs and VPDs and/or Aboriginal Health would be viewed favourably.
An established profile in research in the discipline area.
National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
A strong record of managing research projects with national reach and multiple stakeholders.
A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
Experience managing a multidisciplinary team toward combined goals.
A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
