Responsibilities
Act as a point of contact for the Security Technical Office and liaise with internal and/or external clients and stakeholders, including answering routine queries and providing advice as relevant to the role.
Process and assist the Security Technical team in the efficient maintenance and operation of the University's Security technical systems and systems used in the Security Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).
Process work orders and CRM enquiries, and, where required, escalate them to the relevant subject matter experts.
Produce audit trail and statistical reports from the Security technical systems as directed by the Manager, Security Technical.
Organise and support routine events/meetings/activities for the Security Technical Office.
Requirements
Cert IV or Diploma in Information Technology with relevant work experience; Cert II or III in Information Technology, Technical Security, or Security Equipment, with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills
Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Effective organisational, time management and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Security technical software and systems
Experience in using and/or installing IT or Security technical equipment and systems would be considered an advantage

Excellent interpersonal, project management and written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
Knowledge of Brightspace and other Instructional Technology tools such as echo360
Proficiency with emerging technologies, such as podcasting, vodcasting, asynchronous/synchronous technologies and virtual worlds
Ability to plan and lead training for faculty utilizing technology
Comfortable leading and facilitating demos, workshops, training seminars
Experience with Banner and ILP preferred
Knowledge of multimedia instructional technologies and synchronous and asynchronous instructional strategies
Strong understanding of distance education delivery methods
Strong analytical and technical skills
A willingness/eagerness to mentor staff
Comfortable leading and managing multiple vendor relationships

Responsibilities
Attend all responses to alarms, medical emergencies, fire emergencies, or other matters as they arise under supervision.
Operate the Central Security Monitoring Station (CSMS).
Respond to enquiries/complaints of public/staff/students.
Lock, patrol and provide access for authorised personnel to University buildings.
Notify the Security Supervisor of any matters of priority or emergency.
Enforce parking and traffic regulations and control.
Conduct preliminary investigations into all incidents as directed.
Prepare detailed reports by the end of each shift of all incidents that occurred during the shift using standard formats.
Perform other duties as reasonably directed by the Manager Security (MS), the Deputy Manager Security (DMS), or the Security Supervisor (SS) or delegate.
Requirements
Current Queensland Certificate II in Security Operations including Security Officer Unarmed, Crowd Control, Bodyguard and Monitoring modules.
Current St John, Red Cross or Qld Ambulance First Aid Certificate.
Current Queensland Manual Open Drivers Licence.
Well-developed knowledge of security methodologies and concepts as applied to the Security industry.
Sound interpersonal skills, including effective communication with a large variety of individuals, both internal and external to the University.
Demonstrated proficiency with security software and programs and the ability to produce and analyse reports in a timely manner.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and efficiently organise work under strict deadlines.
Ability to exercise tact and restrain in the face of provocation or criticism.
Experience effectively dealing with emergency situations arising during the course of duty.
