Provide high-quality legal advice to senior leadership on disputes focusing on early resolution and risk mitigation.
Support a range of sensitive litigation and guide grievance and misconduct processes for staff and students.
Provide legal advice on employment-related issues, including discrimination, sexual misconduct, bullying, health and safety, employer obligations, and entitlements.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
Advise on new legislative programs and help develop policy frameworks to support UQ’s operations and strategic objectives.
Foster strong stakeholder relationships while driving innovation, improving efficiencies, managing risks, and enhancing legal resources for UQ.
Requirements
Admitted as a Solicitor or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
A minimum of 4 years post admission experience is preferred.
Significant experience in commercial litigation and knowledge of court processes.
Experience providing strategic advice to resolve commercial and other disputes.
Experience in both contentious and advisory aspects of employment law.
Knowledge of administrative law and decision making.
Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and deliver high quality, timely legal advice on a wide range of legal issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Experience in Administrative law and decision making, preferably acting for a statutory body or government entity.

Requirements
Master’s Degree in counseling or closely related field, with appropriate internship, licensed (or license eligible) in the state of Maine, with at least one year of relevant counseling experience.
In-depth understanding of counseling theories and techniques as well as adolescent and emerging adult development theory with an emphasis on evidence supported treatment.
Adherence to American Counseling Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Relevant training and experience as a generalist in short-term counseling, case management, group therapy, risk assessment and crisis intervention.
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent counseling and advising skills specific to working with emerging adults and non-traditional aged college students’ issues (e.g., substance abuse, identity development, eating disorders, relationship issues, test anxiety, etc.).
Good teaching and group presentation skills.
Ability to develop and deliver outreach programming.
Some experience managing clinical documentation technology.
Some experience writing and managing grants.
Some training/experience related to career assessment and counseling.
Ability to travel to the Biddeford campus.
