Responsibilities
Conduct innovative research in advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, sustainable manufacturing, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer-aided engineering, and advanced engineering materials.
Teach across a broad range of areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and higher degree research students.
Collaborate with colleagues within the School and across the University.
Design curriculum and develop innovative interdisciplinary academic programs related to advanced manufacturing.
Foster links with external partners, including industry, government, and community.
Develop and supervise projects addressing grand challenges with high impact.
Identify and obtain research grants in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Requirements
Hold a PhD or equivalent in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience and achievements in advanced manufacturing, robotics, sustainable manufacturing, mechanical engineering, advanced materials, or computer-aided engineering.
Strong track record and international reputation for excellence in research and development, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, patents, and/or Open Source developments.
Proven leadership in research and experience supervising research students at the Honours or higher degree level.
Capacity to secure substantial research funding from various sources, including competitive government grants.
Evidence of curriculum development and program delivery in Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
