Responsibilities
Subject coordination duties including the development of Learning Management System sites and subject guides, preparing and marking assessments, selecting and supervising tutors, and consulting with students.
Curriculum design and innovation, including multidisciplinary approaches.
Subject delivery, including preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials and seminars.
Development of technology-based teaching, learning and assessment programs and resources.
Publications, including (but not limited to) peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, creative outputs and commissioned reports.
Requirements
A completed PhD in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated specialisation in the field of Indigenous Studies (or a related discipline), with a particular focus on international contexts.
Demonstrated capacity for excellence in teaching including in syllabus/curriculum design and subject (module) coordination.
A developing profile of distinctive and impactful research outputs and related activity.
Experience in community and/or industry engagement with a capacity to build international networks and partnerships.
A demonstrated ability to create inclusive learning environments.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage one’s own time effectively, work collaboratively, administer multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines successfully.

Ensure timely and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the development and implementation of Indigenous initiatives.
Provide high-level project and administrative coordination for initiatives such as Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS), Residential Indigenous Science Experience (RISE).
Coordinate student recruitment, program delivery, OHS risk assessments, and liaison with partnering universities and Indigenous units to achieve objectives of FEIT Indigenous initiatives.
Coordinate sponsorship opportunities and effectively manage key stakeholders.
Empower Indigenous students through impactful programs, meaningful collaborations, and leadership in diversity-focused initiatives.
Requirements
Effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to foster strong collaborations to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes within budget and timelines.
Ability to coordinate and prepare project documentation, including project plans, schedule, implementation plans, work plans and timeframes, communications, evaluation and identification of key responsibilities and milestones to support initiatives that promote Indigenous student pathways into engineering and IT.

The primary focus of the VC Indigenous Doctoral Fellow is to undertake research activities directed towards the completion of a PhD in line with the University’s research strategy.
Limited other functions associated with the position, which may include engagement activities, presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students and course administration in line with the University’s quality assurance requirements. A maximum of 10% of workload is to be allocated to non-PhD related activity.
Requirements
Aboriginality’ or ‘Must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage’ is an ‘Essential Selection Criteria'.
Appropriate academic background or equivalence to gain admission to PhD candidature.
