Responsibilities
Manage efficient daily operations of the HR office and provide administrative support including but not limited to managing the front desk, phone, general HR email inbox, tracking and ordering supplies, sorting mail, submitting IT and facilities work orders and other office support duties.
Provides front-line HR support and superior customer service.
Partner with internal HR teams, Payroll, Recruiting, to resolve manager and employee questions within defined timelines
Oversee background check program for the university.
Schedules, greets and assists new hires (benefits eligible, students, and adjuncts) in completing the I-9 work authorization documents and other associated paperwork.
Work with various departments to streamline new hire process for those employees who are not included on the online system: adjuncts, temporary employees and student workers.
Provides administrative support Human Resources and Office of Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance including meeting coordination, and processing of invoices, departmental purchase cards and budget.
Maintain and create applicable standard operating procedures and proactively identify and address internal process improvement.
Assist with updates and modifications to website and social media accounts, as need.
Responsible for HR storage management.
Assist team with various special projects.
Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, other department and University personnel, and/or various individuals/organizations to plan and coordinate departmental activities, inter-office communications in order to exchange information, resolve problems, etc.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Associate’s Degree plus two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Prior experience working in a human resources office preferred.
Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes and handle multiple tasks.
Ability and desire to grow and develop in a position.
Judgment, tact, and resourcefulness required.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of safe working procedures and security measures related to work performed.
Previous experience in office management and organizing and coordinating events preferred.
Proven experience troubleshooting and problem solving on the fly.
Ability to respond to a broad spectrum of questions regarding University policies, procedures, benefits, etc.
Basic comfort with learning and utilizing technology including databases and Microsoft Office suite, Canva and social media to perform necessary tasks and to automate processes as appropriate.
Ability to manage time and prioritize task completion is required.
Ability to meet deadlines with quality results often in situations of high urgency.

Design and develop educational materials, trainings, and onboarding curriculum related to RCR, research ethics, and compliance.
Coordinate and deliver training sessions to researchers (faculty, professional staff, students) related to RCR, research ethics and compliance.
Facilitate research-related on-boarding activities for new faculty/professional staff and the research off-boarding process for faculty/professional staff departing the institution.
Provide guidance to researchers on institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in RCR, research ethics and compliance.
Assist with the development of assessment tools and mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of RCR education programs and recommend improvements.
Maintain records and documentation of training participation and generate reports to demonstrate compliance and educational outcomes.
Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and institutional leaders to identify educational needs and opportunities for improvement.
Stay informed of changes in research ethics regulations, ethical standards, and best practices to ensure RCR programs are up-to-date and compliant with NIH and NSF federal program requirements.
May take the lead on special projects as assigned by the UNE Director of Research Integrity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field (such as ethics, education, science, or a related area).
3 years of experience in research administration or related compliance experience (e.g., IACUC, IBC, IRB).
Prior experience in coordinating and delivering RCR education programs is desirable.
Familiarity with research ethics, regulatory requirements, and best practices in responsible conduct of research.
Experience in curriculum development and educational program design.
Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment in the Office of Research Integrity.
