Requirements
Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) or equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training, or experience in an animal facility environment.
Relevant work experience in a laboratory animal facility environment.

Responsibilities
Provide high quality nursing and technical services within the Small Animal Hospital at UQ Vets.
Assist with teaching Undergraduate Veterinary students and Veterinary Technology students in a clinical environment.
Requirements
Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelor of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) and/or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology plus at least 2 years nursing experience, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability to deliver and maintain high standards of professional veterinary nursing in all areas of nursing.
Comfortable working sole charge nurse over a range of shifts from day, afternoon, overnights, weekends and public holidays.
High level organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work flexibly with the use of initiative and autonomy.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of ethical requirements, principles and practices relevant to all areas of veterinary nursing.
Knowledge and application of relevant policies and procedures applicable to employment, including workplace health and safety, employment equity and anti-discrimination.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in the field of veterinary nursing.
Possess or be able to apply for a radiation license.
