Salary
AUD $110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation
Responsibilities
Conduct research independently and as part of a team on the project titled 'Condition Monitoring of Aircraft Propulsion for Automated Diagnostics'.
Discover and develop new techniques to detect and diagnose anomalies in aeroengine bearings and gears.
Develop advanced signal processing techniques and models of aircraft engine components.
Participate in conferences and workshops.
Assist with the supervision of students.
Collaborate with industry partners.
Engage actively with fellow researchers at UNSW and other institutions.
Requirements
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
Demonstrated excellence in condition monitoring, signal processing, machine dynamics and modelling, and statistics related to mechanical systems.
Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines.
Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
