Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months with the possibility of an extension.
Base salary will be in the range $78,871.35 - $105,004.02 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A).
Based at our St Lucia campus.
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Pranesh Padmanabhan at the University of Queensland (UQ), within the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) in the Faculty of Medicine and the Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Centre (CJCDAR) at the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI). This position is supported by an ARC Discovery Project Grant (2024 - 2027).
This Postdoctoral Research Fellow will use neuronal cultures, advanced imaging, and biochemical techniques to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying brain cell communication, as well as Alzheimer’s disease. There will be plenty of opportunities to develop interdisciplinary skills, co-supervise students, and apply for external grants and fellowships.
The team has access to SBMS and QBI’s state-of-the-art super-resolution microscopy, animal experimentation, and computing facilities. The team is well-funded by NHMRC and ARC grants and benefits from an extensive network of collaborators, including Prof Jürgen Götz (CJCDAR director), A/Prof Victor Anggono (CJCDAR), and Dr Rajat Desikan (GSK, UK).
