About the Role
As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Student and Curriculum Data & Reporting team. You will work to develop analytical, modelling, automation, business process mining, and business intelligence reporting capabilities, to support significant strategic and business improvement initiatives at the University that impact student support and delivery. This will be achieved by working collaboratively and cooperatively across teams in Student Administration, Faculties and Business Services; through utilising technology, defining new data collection and analysis processes, developing analysis and reporting capabilities for business and information requirements, and supporting the development and implementation of solutions, systems, and tools to identify opportunities for improvements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing, manipulating, cleaning, analysing, and transforming data from diverse sources to meet reporting needs across the Student Support and Delivery portfolio and external University stakeholders upon request.
- Developing and implementing data models, algorithms, and statistical methods to uncover trends and patterns.
- Translating intricate datasets into succinct reports with compelling narratives, emphasising key findings and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Who we are looking for
We are in search of a detail-oriented and highly skilled Data Analyst to bolster our team. As the ideal candidate, you will possess a robust analytical mindset, proficiency with data analysis tools, and the capacity to translate data into actionable insights. They should be adept at navigating complex and dynamic environments.

You will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Proficiency in Excel, including Power Query, VBA, advanced functions, pivot tables, and data visualisation for effective analysis and presentation.
- Strong proficiency in Python or similar programming languages for data analysis.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for creating interactive and visually appealing dashboards.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
