Overview
The Student Life directorate adopts a whole of institution, evidence-based approach to building a sense of belonging and ensure individual students’ needs are met holistically across the student lifecycle. These services will deliver a successful student experience that focuses on providing high quality services for retention, employability, and personalised support for student success.
The Student Success team has a pivotal role in providing individual student and centrally coordinated programs to support students and school staff to improve student success. These services are evidence and sector best practice based. Collaboration across all University student service points is a major requirement, as is the implementation of a seamless student experience strategy alongside excellent customer service standards.
The Role
Collaborating with a range of ECU stakeholders, the Student Success Support is responsible for providing support to the Student Success team who implement proactive student success programs, and address and resolve more complex individual student issues through case management. The Student Success Support will communicate with students and support the Student Success Adviser to identify student support needs and develop action plans to enable students to reach their full potential and experience positive outcomes in their ECU studies. You will understand the issues that impact on successful transition and academic success for various student cohorts, especially students from a Low Socio-Economic Status or regional and remote areas.

Key Criteria
- A tertiary qualification and experience OR an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience in front line servicing of individuals, identifying their support needs and referring to requisite internal or external area for support.
- Experience coordinating activities related to development and support of student programs.
- Providing student focused support tasks and activities related to effective operation of a variety of programs.
- Experience working in the Higher Education sector.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives. Showing respect for others views and opinions by listening to and discussing these opinions even if they differ from your own.
- Building rapport and forming positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders/communities.
An understanding of contemporary international education issues, experience working with international students and/or experience having lived and studied in other countries would be advantageous.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
Benefits & RemunerationThis fixed term position attracts remuneration of $78,854 to $87,624 pa (HEW 5) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
