About the Role
At Flinders, the Student Mobility Manager is referred to as Manager, Global Experience (GEM), and leads the Global Experience Team (GET). The GEM provides expert advice to key stakeholders about the range of activities that fall within the GET along with supervising and guide the staff.
The position also contributes to the ongoing planning and development of student mobility in line with the strategic objectives of the International Portfolio and the broader University by making informed recommendations for enhancement of policies, systems and processes based on research and analysis of trends, and liaison and benchmarking with key stakeholders.

Positioned in a broader team who are highly effective and are regularly recognised for their impact, this role presents the opportunity for the successful candidate to build their team while collaborating with the University’s six Colleges and other relevant internal stakeholders to promote opportunities for students to undertake an overseas study experience.
Please note - This position may require international and domestic travel, work outside of normal hours with restrictions on taking leave during peak work periods.
About You
It is expected that the successful candidate will have made progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or hold an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education and/or training.
With proven experience in formulating plans for inbound and outbound student mobility, including proposed targets for designated countries, to be successful in this role you will also demonstrate:
- Exemplary interpersonal and oral communication skills, (including cross cultural communication), along with evidence of capacity to represent the University overseas, ensuring the development and maintenance of productive relationships with international partners, industry and government.
- High-level analytical skills, including ability to identify opportunities to increase targets for inbound and outbound student mobility.
- Previous experience in formulating plans for inbound and outbound student mobility, including proposed targets, for designated countries.
- Proven experience in leading and managing staff and operations, in a team and performance-based environment, along with experience in managing operational budgets or expenditures and a track record of success in administering programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian university courses and internationalisation strategies.
