The Australian BioCommons is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to lead the development and maintenance of security policies, processes, and compliance measures for sensitive data platforms in environmental, agricultural, and biomedical science. This role will focus on attaining ISO27001 certification for human data management, aligning with HIPAA and other security frameworks, and supporting the deployment of new technologies like Gen3. The Specialist will work independently with technical teams and leadership to ensure the quality and security of BioCommons' digital infrastructure.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical security issues to stakeholders. They will have a collaborative approach, hands-on experience with security technologies, and a deep understanding of security policies, risk management, and industry standards, including ISO 27001 and HIPAA regulations.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
