Responsibilities
Utilise expertise in Apache Airflow and Snowflake to build, maintain and optimise scalable and reliable data pipelines, including using DBT to transform data in the Snowflake data warehouse.
Oversee and execute the design, implementation, and operation of IT services, technology systems, and infrastructure in relevant domains.
Apply the modelling standards for the enterprise data warehouse modelling in the Data Warehouse, such as multi-dimensional schema and Data Vault.
Provide technical leadership for analytics pipeline architectures, database or integration platforms and associated tools and technologies.
Develop relevant technical capability within the MQ IT service support organisation, including knowledge sharing and coaching.
Work with cross-functional IT Support teams for incident resolution and troubleshooting.
Provide advice to MQ clients and MQ IT leadership in relevant subject matter domains.
Monitor and optimise the performance of data solutions, ensuring quality, reusability, high availability and scalability.
Lead continuous improvement of relevant operational processes, standards and procedures, and ensure that support documentation is developed and maintained.
Contribute to project work as subject matter expert, working with project manager to scope, size and complete work assigned to agreed targets.
Work closely with the project team and business stakeholders to design and implement data solutions.
Ensure efficient communication with project and business stakeholders.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Knowledge and experience as a subject matter expert in Python and SQL scripting, data modelling technologies, database platforms, and data integration platforms and technologies, which may be supported by relevant certifications.
Demonstrated evidence of advanced analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills applied to the relevant data or integration specialisation and technology platform.
Technical leadership of the implementation of data solutions for complex enterprise systems within complex multi-stakeholder and formalised project delivery environments.
Experience with modern cloud technologies including AWS, Airflow, and Snowflake.
Experience in the higher education and/or health sectors is highly regarded.
