- Manage the electron microscopy capability and provide services to researchers and industry partners.
- Provide high level expert advice, training, and technical support on sample preparation techniques and electron microscopy.
- Lead the development of new sample preparation methods and imaging techniques.
- Collaborate on research projects and contribute to publications.
- Manage access of users to the microscopy equipment through a registration and safety assessment process and online booking system.
- Provide microscopy services for industry partners, ensuring projects are delivered to specification, time, and budget.
- Conduct educational workshops and establish a user group forum to build researcher knowledge.
Requirements
- PhD degree in a relevant discipline with substantial experience in electron microscopy, preferably on biological samples.
- In-depth knowledge of electron microscopy and experience operating and maintaining scanning and transmission electron microscopes.
- Demonstrated experience in sample preparation techniques, including cryo-TEM and ultrathin sectioning.
- Experience in using software for image analysis and developing data algorithms.
- Experience in training users in electron microscopy and sample preparation techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to promote a cohesive team and build relationships with researchers and clients.
- Experience working in ISO accredited laboratories and GLP experience.
